I was curious about that list this of who owns what "independent" label. It was stated that Apollo records was "owned" by a major label. I was wondering about any new releases from the new labels? I thought I remembered seeing some posting about one but i can't find it. I'm particularly interested in any of the more dubby/"dancehall" stuff. Deconstruction, along with Arista, are labels distributed by BMG (RCA). Were you asked about the derivation of certain labels, because some of the labels and their owners taht you mentioned were a little off. There are only a few major labels (6 distributors: WEA, CEMA, BMG, UNI, PDG, and Sony). The labels are thereby utilized through the distributors. Each distributor only had usually about 3 - 6 major lables, whcih in turn would own other labels. For instance, Reprise owned by Warner Bros. -Tyson
